Verified 27 Aug 2026: NWS Columbia office info says the Weather Forecast Office in Columbia, SC is at Columbia Metropolitan Airport and has warning and forecast responsibility for 18 counties in Central South Carolina (and 5 in East-Central Georgia). NWS fire-weather county list for WFO CAE includes Sumter. NWS point forecast for Shaw Air Force Base (KSSC) is issued with site CAE. WFO ILM (Wilmington) covers other South Carolina counties (Florence, Georgetown, and neighbors on that fire-weather list). ILM is not the Sumter office. We are not inventing a climate table.
