Wright-Patterson AFB. Dayton / Fairborn.

Official pages first. This is a destination note for a PCS to Wright-Patterson, not the welcome center, and not a ranked cheap-eats list for a young airman. Official rates are on this page with as-of dates. We do not compute a member’s claim. Wright-Patt Inns TLF is open. Limited pet-friendly TLF. We do not invent nightly rates.

Not a .mil site. No DoD seals. No official logos. Linked .mil and city pages belong to those agencies. HeyBryx is a private Amazon Associates publication.

Official rates Monthly

Current as of 27 Aug 2026. Direct official government sources only. Not a .mil site. Finance and TMO own the voucher. We do not compute a member’s claim. BAH has individual rate protection. First and last travel day M&IE is 75% per JTR/FTR.

Per diem — cite the ZIP-file dual rows. Do not flatten.

FY2026. Effective 1 Oct 2025–30 Sep 2026. GSA master file title: FY2026 Per Diem Rates - Effective October 1, 2025. Wright-Patterson AFB sits in Greene / Montgomery Counties (Fairborn / Dayton). The GSA master NSA row for this metro is Dayton / Fairborn, Greene / Montgomery Counties (destination ID 285), lodging $115 / M&IE $74 year-round. GSA text (FTR 26-01 / per diem lookup notes): per diem localities with county definitions include all locations within the listed counties; when a military installation sits in a listed county, the county NSA can apply. Wright-Patterson is in Greene and Montgomery Counties. If a member lodges outside Greene / Montgomery, TMO / finance owns which locality the TLE voucher uses. We are not inventing that call. Monthly.

Do not flatten the GSA master and the GSA ZIP file into one “Wright-Patterson rate.” ZIP 45433 (the base) is Dayton / Fairborn NSA. Nearby ZIPs 45431 and 45432 are the same NSA row. ZIPs 45324 and 45424 have both a Standard Rate row and a Dayton / Fairborn NSA row in the same ZIP file. We publish both. We do not pick a winner.

GSA FY2026 ZIP file, retrieved with the master file:

ZIPs 45324 and 45424 Standard Rate row. FY2026 GSA ZIP file. Current as of 27 Aug 2026. Monthly. These ZIPs also have a Dayton / Fairborn NSA row ($115 / $74).
DatesLodgingM&IE
Every month (Oct–Sep) — Standard Rate row$110$68

TLE uses a locality per diem. We are not computing days authorized. We are not declaring which ZIP-file row finance will use for TLE at 45324 or 45424, or for a hotel outside Greene / Montgomery Counties. Wright-Patt Inns has TLF; we did not copy a nightly rate from FSS or MOS. Read MOS temporary housing. Do not treat a reprint hotel list as official.

Arrival, sponsor, lodging Monthly

Hours, phones, and lodging options move. Read the live pages. Where official pages disagree, we cite both. We do not flatten the conflict into a fake “current” number of our own.

Wright-Patt Inns / TLF — official MOS + FSS. Do not invent a nightly rate.

MilitaryINSTALLATIONS temporary housing (checked 27 Aug 2026): comfortable accommodations at the Wright-Patterson Inns. TLF has two-bedroom houses with a double-size bed in each bedroom and a sofa in the living room that becomes a bed; fully stocked kitchen (large refrigerator, stove, microwave, pots and pans, silverware, dishes, coffeepot), iron and ironing board, one large television and a small TV in the bedroom. Visiting quarters rooms: one double-size bed, microwave, small refrigerator, coffeepot, iron and ironing board, TV. Reservations: 937-257-3451, book 30 to 60 days in advance. Lodging has a total of 10 pet-friendly TLF units (eight two-bedroom, two three-bedroom). Check-in: identification card, a copy of orders, a credit card, and shot records for pets if necessary. DoD Lodging: af.dodlodging.net/propertys/wright-patterson-afb.

Same MOS TLF page, “Other”: 24 hours a day; check-in at the front desk in Building 825. “The Wright-Patterson Inn consists of 414 rooms divided among seven buildings.” Amenities listed: two fitness rooms, a business center, a wi-fi lounge, a game room, laundry facilities. Temporary Living Facilities: 40 family units, 28 with two bedrooms and 12 with three bedrooms for families on a PCS; 10 of them pet friendly.

Same MOS TLF page, Pets: limited pet-friendly units, based on availability. Call 937-257-3451 or DSN 312-787-3451. If no pet-friendly unit is available, MOS says go to the services website under veterinary clinics for off-base kennels. Guests arriving after 6 p.m. must guarantee with a valid credit card; at 6 p.m. the front desk cancels reservations not held with credit cards.

Same MOS TLF contact block: Air Force Billeting, 2439 Schlatter Drive, Building 825, Area A, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH 45433. COMM 937-257-3451. 24-7 888-635-6343. FAX 937-257-2488. DSN on that contact block: 312-787-3810 (DSN FAX 312-787-2488). Website: wrightpattfss.com/wright-patterson-inns/. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. That DSN (3810) is not the same as the pets / 24-hour-arrival DSN (3451). Cited, not flattened.

88 FSS Wright-Patterson Inns (wrightpattfss.com, checked 27 Aug 2026): 24/7. Address 2439 Schlatter Dr., Bldg. 825, Area A, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio 45433. Amenities listed include 449 guest rooms, DV suites, pet-friendly TLF units, laundry, two fitness rooms, WIFI lounge, game room, conference room, business center. We did not copy a nightly rate. FSS 449 rooms vs MOS 414 rooms: not the same number. Cited, not flattened.

wpafb.af.mil Newcomers / Housing-Lodging (search index of the official page; this datacenter got 403 on 27 Aug 2026): eligible personnel may stay in temporary accommodations such as the Wright-Patt Inns or the nearby Hope Hotel, located just outside Gate 12A. “A limited number of Temporary Lodging Facility (TLF) units are available for families.” Phones on that official page (search index): Wright-Patt Inns & TLF (937) 257-3451; MHO (937) 257-6547. We did not invent a Hope Hotel nightly rate or a commercial booking URL. Cite the official Housing-Lodging page. Still linked.

Privatized housing / Bricks Quarters / HEAT — no wait time invented

MOS housing (checked 27 Aug 2026): Wright-Patterson has government housing, privatized housing, and unaccompanied housing. Use HEAT. “On-base government housing is limited to those with the rank of O-6 and above.” Privatized military housing, located adjacent to the base, is managed by The Properties at Wright Field. Call 937-253-6009. MOS: it includes 1,536 family housing units, available to all ranks and Department of Defense personnel. Call 937-257-6547 / DSN 787-6547. MOS housing also links InMyArea.com for utilities — we will not use InMyArea.

wpafb.af.mil Housing-Lodging (search index; 403 from this datacenter 27 Aug 2026): privatized housing managed by Properties at Wright Field. Housing assignments based on rank, family size, and availability — that page does not publish a wait-time number we will copy. Government Housing (Bricks Quarters) — designed for Officers and Essential Personnel; apply via the Housing Early Assistance Tool. Unaccompanied Housing (Dorms) — unaccompanied Airmen E-1 to E-3 and E-4 with less than 3 years of service. Those two official lines (MOS “O-6 and above” for on-base government housing vs the Housing-Lodging Bricks Quarters “Officers and Essential Personnel”) are not worded the same. Cited, not flattened. Confirm with MHO. We do not invent wait times.

Properties at Wright Field public site: wpafbhomes.com. HEAT: homes.mil/heat/.

M&FRC / Loan Closet / Airman’s Attic

88 FSS M&FRC (checked 27 Aug 2026): 2000 Allbrook Dr, Bldg 2, Area A, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio 45433. Walk-in services with a few exceptions. Relocation Assistance on that FSS page: Plan My Move seminars, Kids on the Move, newcomers orientations each month, PCS Childcare 20 hours of free childcare when processing inbound/outbound. Loan Closet on that FSS page: basic household items and car seats for short-term use during PCS. Phone on MOS check-in / MOS relocation: 937-257-3592 or DSN 312-787-3592. Monthly.

MOS relocation (retrieved 27 Aug 2026): MPF facilitates weekly in-processing and monthly newcomer orientations, scheduled through orderly rooms. If household goods are late, borrow from Family Services’ Loan Closet — bring a copy of orders; items may be checked out for up to two months. Airman’s Attic and Food Pantry on that MOS page: active-duty E-4 and below, family members, and retirees; E-5 and above, as well as civilians, assessed case-by-case. We quote MOS. We do not invent hours.

wpafb.af.mil Family Support Info (search index; 403 from this datacenter 27 Aug 2026) notes the M&FRC is closed the first Thursday of each month for training. Still linked. Hours and that closure are Monthly.

Climate and weather Seasonal / annual

Wright-Patterson is NWS WFO ILN (Wilmington / Dayton). wpafb.af.mil newcomers 403’d from this datacenter on 27 Aug 2026. We will not invent climate numbers (average snowfall, record high, “how many tornadoes”) to fill the gap. Use NWS:

Southwest Ohio heat, ice, and severe weather are real; NWS ILN is the live weather office. Vehicle-specific gear is Auto Hobby / a local shop / the vehicle manual — not a random ASIN we invent. 88 FSS Outdoor Recreation and Auto Hobby are on the live FSS site; hours move.

Hunting, fishing, boating Seasonal / annual

Seasons change. We will not paste a table that will rot. Ohio Department of Natural Resources is the official source. This datacenter got 404 on ohiodnr.gov on 27 Aug 2026 (CloudFront). Still the official site. Linked, not pasted:

Licenses, zones, and “can I hunt this weekend” are on those pages, not here. We did not paste ODNR season tables.

Kid-friendly (parks, library) Seasonal / annual

We are not ranking playgrounds or inventing a “best for toddlers” list.

Utilities Monthly

Official Fairborn OH and Dayton OH pages only. We will not guess which electric or gas company a given street uses. We will not invent a street-by-street map. Check the city list and your lease / MHO. We did not use InMyArea (MOS housing links it; we will not). We did not use realtor blogs. We do not publish kWh prices.

On-base family housing is privatized; utility setup for a Wright-Patterson housing address is the housing office’s job, not a paragraph we invent.

Fuel Monthly

We do not publish a price. Check today:

Restaurants and a young airman’s grocery bill Monthly

We will not rank restaurants without a monthly check we are not running. No “top 10 cheap eats.” Menu prices rot. A young airman’s budget is real; the honest line is the commissary plus an official city directory, not a fake Yelp five.

Traffic, distance, wildlife Seasonal / annual Monthly

We are not inventing a commute time or a mile-count. Ice, heat, severe weather, wildlife, and metro traffic change the drive. For weather: NWS Wilmington (ILN). For animals and seasons: ODNR. For city streets: City of Fairborn and City of Dayton.

BAH, per diem, mileage, and DLA: see Official rates.

Meet people Monthly

Official, then stop. We are not inventing a singles meetup or linking a closed Facebook group.

Chapel: we did not get a live wpafb.af.mil chapel page from this datacenter (403). Still look on wpafb.af.mil / MOS. Do not invent a service time.

USO: we did not find a standalone USO center page for Wright-Patterson. Do not invent one. USO national: uso.org.

Public news (no CAC): Wright-Patterson AFB public affairs / news (403 from this datacenter; still the official news index) · City of Fairborn · City of Dayton.

Material kit add-on for this climate

The national empty-house cart is still kit.html (sleep, cook, shower, light). For Wright-Patterson, NWS ILN is the live weather office. Class-based Amazon only, tag heybryx-20, same 4.0★ + in-stock rule as the kit. We did not pick a Wright-Patterson-specific ASIN on 27 Aug 2026 — freeze-plug heaters and tires are vehicle- or house-specific; bundled roadside kits go out of stock. No button. Buy the pieces you actually need.

engine block heater

Class, not a random freeze-plug

Southwest Ohio ice happens; NWS ILN is the live weather office. Freeze-plug and corded OEM heaters are vehicle-specific. We will not pick a random ASIN for your engine. Magnetic pan heaters only stick to steel/iron, not aluminum, and they are not a substitute for a correctly installed engine heater. Ask Auto Hobby / a local shop / your vehicle manual. 88 FSS Auto Hobby: wrightpattfss.com/auto-hobby/.

Example of the class, not a ranked test. We are an Amazon Associate. Disclosure.

emergency car kit — blanket, shovel, jumper

Class: blanket, compact shovel, jumper cables

A shovel is the honest extra for ice or a ditch. Bundled “roadside kits” often omit the shovel or go out of stock. No button. Buy the three pieces you actually need. Do not wait for a pretty bag. Severe-weather plans are NWS ILN, not an ASIN we invent.

Example of the class, not a ranked test. Winter tires: vehicle-specific — described, not linked.

Winter tires: vehicle-specific. We cannot pick a sane universal ASIN. Describe the class. Do not click a random tire.
